The ad is where a doctor is conducting his research on the patient in his home bathroom. The connotative value is that the doctor caters to your needs and pays you special attention to get to know what exactly is wrong with you. What is denotative is that it is a doctor collecting data on a patient in his home as he does his personal business. I think that it doesn't work because it's a little creepy. It's too close for comfort and honestly I wouldn't want my doctor taking notes as I peed. I think it's just trying to say that the doctors are personal, and don't skip corners and collect all the information that is needed, although the ad sorta backfired.
